Manitoba Job Restart Program (MJRP) – provides a taxable financial benefit to a maximum of $2,000 to Manitobans who: safely return to work for a cumulative 30 hours per week through one or more employers; voluntarily stop collecting CERB (Canada Emergency Response Benefit) or similar federal COVID support programs.  Those returning to work for a weekly cumulative of 30 hours between June 26 and July 31 will receive $500 upon enrollment in the MJRP; and receive 3 additional bi-weekly payments of $500 after completing the required bi-weekly reporting survey.  The bi-weekly report requires confirmation of employment status as required per above and they are not enrolled in CERB, CESB or similar COVID-19 related federal financial support program.  Full details are available at https://manitoba.ca/covid19/infomanitobans/mjrp.html  The application deadline is July 31, 2020.



Federal Government

CEWS (Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy) – As you know the program was extended to August 29, 2020.  The government has announced the program will be unchanged for Period 4 claims.  The government has said the expected changes will be in place for Period 5 claims.
